Bowman's Hill Wildflower Preserve presents its 12th annual Land Ethics Symposium: Creative Approaches for Ecological Landscaping on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Bucks County Hotel in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. This informative conference will focus on ways to create low-maintenance, economical, and ecologically balanced landscapes using native plants and restoration techniques. It provides opportunities to develop contacts and share resources to promote the ongoing stewardship of regional native plant resources. The Symposium is geared toward professionals, including landscape architects, designers, contractors and the green industry, environmental consultants, land planners, managers and developers, and state/municipal officials. Continuing education credits are available. Featured speakers include: José Almiñana and Thomas Amoroso of Andropogon Associates, Ltd., C. Colston Burrell of Native Landscape Design & Restoration; John Mark Courtney of Aquascapes Unlimited, and Michael J. DeVos and Paul W. Steinbeiser of Paul W. Steinbeiser, Inc. Landscape Design & Construction. The second annual Land Ethics Award will be presented at the Symposium. The Land Ethics Award will honor and recognize individuals, organizations, government agencies, community groups and business professionals who have made significant contributions to the promotion of native plants and have exhibited a strong land ethic while promoting sustainable designs that protect the environment. The fee is $129 early bird (postmarked by January 23); $149 regular (postmarked after January 23); and $95 full-time students. The registration fee includes continental breakfast, break, and lunch.
