Purpose:

The Communications Committee is responsible for the preparation of internal communications to the Chapter membership.

Tasks:

The Communications Committee has been charged by the Chapter Executive Committee to perform the following tasks:

Short Term:

• Send an e-mail to all landscape architects soliciting their listing as a landscape architecture firm on the website.

• Create separate lists on the website for landscape architecture firms, for vendors and for other firms who do not have a landscape architect on staff.

• Add a list of commercial sponsors to the Chapter website along with their basic field of expertise or product.

• Develop a plan to generate or cultivate more commercial sponsors.

Long Term:

• Prepare a Chapter newsletter (PLAN) for the membership on a quarterly basis.

• Analyze how the Chapter website could be used to disseminate information to the membership.

• Work with Public Relations Committee to oversee website functions and to develop goals and objectives as to what the website will achieve.

• Coordinate website improvements pertaining to internal communications with the web-master.

• Keep the National ASLA staff informed of accomplishments by landscape architects within the Chapter that may be of National interest.

• Analyze advertising rates for PLAN.

Committee Representation:

Members should include one member from each Section.
