COVID-19 and the 2022 PA-DE ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture

The Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (PA-DE ASLA) looks forward to hosting the 2022 PA-DE ASLA Conference on Landscape Architecture in Wilmington, Delaware. We are committed to providing a healthy environment for everyone and will follow recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the State of Delaware, the City of Wilmington, and our host venue, Chase Center on the Riverfront (see below).

Based on the success and demonstrated safety of the ASLA COVID-19 policy for the 2021 Conference on Landscape Architecture in Nashville, PA-DE ASLA has adopted and enacted the chapter policy outlined below.

This policy is subject to revisions, and any updates or revisions will be publicized when enacted. Guidance may change as more information becomes available.

Attendee Requirements

  • All conference attendees, including speakers, vendor representatives, and PA-DE ASLA staff, must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test, taken within 72 hours, to enter the conference and/or participate in field sessions or off-site tours. Proof of vaccination can be provided as a xeroxed photocopy or photo of the original card and must be provided on site along with a valid driver’s license or ID card. Negative COVID-19 tests must be presented as original printouts or xeroxed photocopies. COVID-19 tests will not be available or administered on site.
    • Vaccinations:
      • Accepted vaccinations are Moderna, Pfizer-BioNTech, and Johnson and Johnson. Your vaccination card must have your name, the name of the vaccine, the lot number, both doses (or one dose with Johnson and Johnson), your birth date, and the facility at which it was administered. Please check these details before leaving for your trip. If there is missing information or issues, please return to where you received the vaccination to update your information.
      • Other accepted vaccinations include Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine, Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine, Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine, Sputnik V COVID-19 vaccine, and Novavax COVID-19 vaccine.
      • If you have a vaccine other than the list above, you should have a COVID-19 test administered by a medical professional within 72 hours of attending the conference.
    • Negative COVID-19 Tests:
      • Accepted COVID-19 tests are PCR, molecular, or antigen tests administered by a medical professional and have printed lab results. Over-the-counter, in-home tests will not be accepted.
    • All conference attendees, including speakers, vendor representatives, and PA-DE ASLA staff, are required to wear a face mask at all times. PA-DE ASLA will provide face masks.

Attendee Recommendations

  • If you do not feel well, please do not attend the conference.
  • Be mindful of physical distancing, hand washing and sanitization, etc. Please bring hand sanitizer with you; PA-DE ASLA will also have sanitizer available on site.
  • Booster shots are recommended, as per CDC guidelines.

Personal Accountability

Please note that attending an in-person event presents an inherent risk of exposure to communicable disease. By attending this event, you voluntarily accept all risks related to exposure from communicable disease and agree to not hold PA-DE ASLA or its representatives liable for any illness or injury. You agree to follow all safety protocols issued by PA-DE ASLA. PA-DE ASLA is not responsible for any potential costs that may be associated with testing or vaccinations.
