Invitation
In order to encourage and recognize excellence in landscape architecture and to demonstrate to the public the variety, scope and value of landscape architectural services, the Pennsylvania Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects hereby invites your participation in the 2026 PA–DE ASLA Awards Program.
Eligibility
The Awards Program is open to all PA and DE registered Landscape Architects, full and associate members of the Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects, and faculty members currently teaching in PA and DE landscape architectural curriculum submitting work associated with their academic pursuits. Entries from private practice offices, planning agencies, and sections of federal, state and local governments are invited to participate.
NEW FOR 2026: All submissions must utilize the 11×17 template available at the entry form links below. Both an InDesign and a Canva template are available for your use. Final awards packages shall be a single PDF file. Failure to utilize the template will result in a disqualification.
Jury
Other than projects submitted for the Landmark Award category, all projects completed in the past 15 years are eligible. Once the project receives an award, it is no longer eligible for entry in future award programs. To judge the Awards Program entries, a distinguished jury panel will be assembled.
Awards and Categories
Awards will be given for excellence in the execution of works of landscape architecture. Categories include:
- General Design
- Residential Design
- Analysis & Planning
- Communications
- Research
- The Landmark Award
NEW FOR 2026: The Green Ribbon Recognition is new in the 2026 awards application cycle. This special recognition will highlight projects that reach beyond the baseline of sustainable design and integrate climate justice as key drivers and narrative changers within the project.
This recognition serves as an additional honor in addition to your regular award entry. To be considered, please check the appropriate box on the application and provide a narrative of 250 words describing how your project meets the criteria listed below with references to any supporting graphic content on your boards.
SYNTHESIZED IMPACT: Jurying of the recognition will be based on the synthesized impact across the four goals outlined in the 2026-2030 ASLA Climate Action Plan.
- CLIMATE: Scale up climate positive approaches for mitigation and adaptation
- BIODIVERSITY: Protect, conserve, restore, enhance, and manage for biodiversity
- EQUITY: Amplify the power of plural and diverse communities and people to achieve equitable climate and biodiversity positive design
- ADVOCACY: Advance climate and biodiversity action through leadership and engagement
PA/DE ASLA Climate Action lenses: Specificity, Measurability, and Scalability will be three additional key criteria for the recognition jury process together with the Synthesized Impact.
Honor and Merit Awards may be given in each category. An “Award for Excellence” may be given to one project deserving of special merit in the program. Any project given an Award of Excellence, Honor, or Merit Award will also be eligible for a Green Ribbon if applicable. The Green Ribbon Recognition is not a standalone award.
Entries will be judged on quality of design or presentation, functionalism, context and surrounding relationships, technological advancements, pioneering efforts, and overall significance to the profession.
